Lesson Ideas

*Line, line segment, ray, point, etc. - teach cool hand motions (line = disco, one finger pointing up and one finger on the other hand pointing down because a line has no end, ray = one arm pointing out with your hand flat to show one end stops at your body and the other end keeps going, point = fist)  You can also play a few found of Simon Says: Line style!

*Gallon Man

*Munchie Math: anytime you can incorporate food into learning = home run! Brownies, pizza, pie, cake, chocolate all work with fractions.

*To teach flip, turn, and slide (reflection, rotation, and translation) use the cha cha slide!  The kids get to get up and move around AND have key vocabulary used while they're dancing!

*Found an awesome song that my students loved while we were learning about matter!  We started every lesson with the matter song and by the end of the unit my third graders were saying words like oxidation... pretty impressive!
